By the time the Silver Shadow II appeared, the
company's efforts at providing a Bentley alternative were a little half
hearted. The name on the engine rocker covers was Rolls-Royce, the
chassis number was stamped on a Rolls-Royce makers plate, and the instruments
on the fascia carried the entwined - R's logo. Inspite of this, demand
for Bentley would not go away and a remarkable Bentley
resurgence was just around the corner.
