Sabbats

InWicca
we give honour to the Gods at 8 festivals (or Sabbats)
throughout
the year ~ there are 4 Greater Sabbats
: Samhain, Imbolg,
Bealtaine
and Lughnasadh (and tend to involve both
the eve and the
day) and4
Lessor Sabbats : Winter Solstice, Spring Equinox,
Summer
Solstice
and Autumn Equinox. The Gods are also
honoured at monthly
festivals
(esbats). Both Sabats and Esbats are occasions of great joy
and normally
end with a feast.

In
Wicca
we believe that our lives, like the changing cycle of the
Seasons
are a part of life and death, Our fears and triumphs, sadness
and grief
are transient ~ they will come and then pass. Our lives will
make the
cycle from birth to death and birth again. By this belief we are
taught
courage, endurance and an ability to look at the greater picture
rather
than looking at how things affect us individually.

We
are a part of nature and we follow it's cycle ~ a cycle that has,
and will,
endure forever.
At the
Sabbats we use different colours, Incense and decorations in our
celebrations.
